Developing Products for New Brand "Emi Inoue"
Together with culinary expert Emi Inoue, we have launched a new brand "Emi Inoue".
As the first step, we are progressing with the development of plates designed with herb patterns.
This time, we bring you a glimpse of a product development meeting filled with dedication to embody the brand's world view.
Why so particular about the color purple...
When cooking and plating dishes, the goal is for the food to look delicious and feel stylish and cool. For that purpose, I often use purple-colored ingredients.
Purple ingredients include purple onions, purple cabbage, purple sprouts, red-leaved chicory , leaf salads, eggplants, beets, etc. When photographing dishes, I procure such ingredients each time. While shopping at the supermarket, I thought—why not incorporate purple into the plates with patterns! When I tried it, it seemed we could create very wonderful plates.
I can't wait to serve dishes on them.
Emi Inoue (Culinary Expert)
Born into a family where her father is film director Umetsugu Inoue and her mother is actress Yumeji Tsukioka.
Progressed from Keio Yochisha Elementary School to Sacred Heart Girls' School.
After graduating from Sacred Heart Women's University, studied the basics of French cuisine at Tsuji Culinary Institute French School in Lyon.
Later, learned French confectionery at Lenôtre Pastry School in Paris.
From 1991 to 2021, was active mainly at the cooking school "AMY'S" in Aoyama, Tokyo.
With the basic concept of "making stylish and delicious dishes in as little time as possible by reducing effort," she taught many students who came from overseas and across the country unconventional dishes based on French and Italian cuisine, arranged to suit Japanese tastes.
In spring 2001, launched the original brand "LA AMYS" featuring aprons, linens, tableware, bags, etc.
She handles everything herself from product planning to design.
